PromoAI. How to edit AI videos with Voice-Over and Subtitles

Learn how to easily edit your AI videos with voice-over to make it perfect.

Once your AI video with voice-over was generated, you can easily edit it with the help of chat-based-editor (Chat to Edit option), and/or Advanced Settings.

We keep working on improving PromoAI and recently classic video editor became available for AI videos with voice-overs. However, currently you can only swap images and footage while editing videos with voice-overs.

Note. If you opened your AI video with voice-over in classic editor, made changes and clicked "Save and Preview", once the video is saved Chat-to-Edit option will disappear. Therefore, if you need to make changes via chat-based-editor, please use it before saving any changes in classic editor.

How do I edit my AI video with voice-over in chat-based-editor?

  1. In your Planner, click on the thumbnail of your generated AI video with voice-over to open the preview page

  2. Once preview page is opened, click 'Chat to edit' button to open chat-based-editor

  3. With this tool, you can change music tracks, logos, and even footage. To make changes, simply type in what exactly would you like to change in your video and click on the Send button.

    Note. In order to change captions and fonts use 'Advanced Settings'.

    Once the video has been modified according to your request, you can preview it. If you like it, click “Save” in the upper right corner and all changes will be saved. If you don't like it, click 'Discard' and none of the changes will be saved.

    You can also use Chat Editing tool to replace footage in the video with your own uploaded videos/images:)

    Once the page with Uploaded content appears, you can either select from existing uploaded content or Upload a new one :)

How do I edit my AI video with voice-over via Advanced Settings?

  1. In your Planner, click on the thumbnail of your generated AI video with voice-over to open the preview page.

    Once preview page is opened, click on 'Advanced Settings'

  2. Once “Advanced Settings” are opened, you will be able to:

    — Disable/Enable voice-over and/or subtitles;

    — Select a language of voice-over and subtitles;

    — Select the narrator for voice-over;

    — Customize subtitles;

    — Edit the script.

    1. Disable/Enable voice-over and/or subtitles:

      Note. If you disable Subtitles, the text will disappear from the screen, you will hear only voice-over. Also, by disabling voice-over, standard video editor will not become available.

    2. Select a language of voice-over and subtitles (Currently, only 9 languages are available to choose from: English (US), English (UK), English (Australia), Spanish (Spain), Spanish (Mexico), French, German, Italian, and Portuguese (Brazil). English is set as default).

      NOTE: The video will be translated to a selected language with the voice of selected narrator.

    3. Select the narrator (we have 60 different voices available to choose from) and, test play the voice, to hear how it sounds

      NOTE. By clicking “Test play” you will hear the voice of the narrator reading random text, so you can select the narrator you like the most from the list.

    4. Customize subtitles:

      • change style of subtitles (currently only 4 styles are available)

      • change font

      • change color of the text and text background

        You can select Brand colors (colors predefined by the Brand that was applied to your video); Preset colors (automatically customized sets of colors. The color of letter 'A' in the circle is the color of the text, and the color in the circle is the text background color)

        Custom colors (underlined letter 'A' icon stands for text color and bucket icon stands for text background color). Click on text color or text background icon and select the color you like from the color palette.

        Letter 'A' in a circle above the right upper corner of the color palette identifies preset colors that were used on your video.

        Enter color code manually (#HEX)

        Click 'Apply' and your color selection will be saved and applied to your video :)

      • change capitalization of text

      • change text alignment

        Once you finish editing your subtitles, click 'Apply' button that will appear at the bottom of the page.

    5. Edit the script (with this option you can change captions on your video)

      Once you finished editing your script, click 'Apply' if you satisfied with the result or 'Discard' if you do not want to change anything in the text

      NOTE. If you make changes to the voice-over script, text may trigger a regeneration of the video, including adding or removing of footage, images, and text. It might not happen all the time, but it may happen, especially if you make big changes to the text.

      The system will show this warning message as a precaution. If you would like to proceed, select “Yes, Continue”.

      NOTE. If you select “Yes, Continue” option, a spinning wheel will appear, which means that PromoAI is applying your changes.

    6. Once your changes are applied, you will be able to preview them, but they will not be saved until you click on “Save” button. It means that if you close the preview window or click on “Discard” these changes will not be saved to your video.

      If you like the result, click “Save” and watch the magic :)

      How do I edit my AI video in classic editor?

  1. In your Planner, click on the thumbnail of your generated AI video with voice-over to open the preview page

    Once preview page is opened, click on 3 dots and select “Edit video” option

  2. Once inside the editor, you can:

    • Replace images and footage. Simply hover over image or footage you wish to replace and click "Replace":

      Library will open where you can select any footage/image you like. Hover over the footage you selected and click “Replace”:

    • Edit text with Advanced Settings. Inside the editor you will find "AI Video Settings". "AI Video Settings" works exactly the same as “Advanced Settings”.

      Note. If you edit the video in classic editor and save changes by clicking "Save and Preview", chat-based-editor and Advanced Settings will disappear from video preview. For the AI video with voice-over that was edited in classic editor only "AI Video Settings" will be available in classic editor.

    • Add your logo in case you forgot to add it before generating your voice-over video.

      Note. Currently, it is not possible to change the logo in classic editor for voice-over videos.

  3. In case you do not like the result, you can click “Discard” and start over. However, please note that “Discard” button will erase all unsaved edits you made.

  4. If you are ready to save changes to the video you can click "Save and Preview" and your updated video will be saved:
